There’s a stunning model on display at Jennings SEAT – and it’s not the usual four-wheel variety, normally found in the showroom!
Columbian singer, Shakira, is on display at the Cargo Fleet Lane showroom in Middlesbrough, but unfortunately for the male population of Teesside, rather than being in the flesh, it’s in the form of a giant paper poster.
The poster is part of SEAT’s ‘Good Stuff’ promotion and sponsorship of the Latin-pop singer-songwriter’s European Tour 2010. The Spanish car firm is also closely backing the 32-year-old singer’s charity, Barefoot Foundation, which supports children living in extreme poverty, as part of the deal.
Shakira set up the charity at the age of 18, after witnessing the suffering of street children who slept rough in her native Columbia.
Craig Johnson, franchise manager at Jennings SEAT in Midldesbrough, said; “The sponsorship SEAT has agreed with Shakira links the young sporty image of the SEAT brand and their current ‘Good Stuff’ promotion, to the musical talent of Shakira who is enjoying success with her latest album, ‘She Wolf’”
Customers visiting the Middlesbrough dealership are taking advantage of a number of limited edition ‘Good Stuff’ Ibiza models from the SEAT range. Selected models are currently available with up to £1200 worth of extras including sat nav, ipod connection, Bluetooth, upgraded alloy wheels, climate control, dark tinted windows and cruise control.
Craig added; “The poster has certainly been causing a bit of a stir and turning a few heads in the showroom.”
In 2007 SEAT also sponsored the ‘Oral Fixation’ European tour, following the singer’s Oral Fixation album, taking it to Oslo, Prague, London, Paris Stockholm and Berlin, among other cities.
During the same year, SEAT also spearheaded a charity campaign with brought in thousands of pounds for the Barefoot Foundation.
