According to staff at Jennings SEAT, more customers are becoming increasingly conscientious about their carbon footprint and opting for more economical models from the sporty Spanish range.
The recent success of the ECOmotive range, which includes the Ibiza, Leon, Altea and Altea XL models, is being put down to customers making substantial savings on road tax exemptions and taking advantage of special offers, which are currently available at the Cargo Fleet Lane dealership in Middlesbrough, until the end of June 2010.
Going green isn’t necessarily the most expensive option for customers either, with the 1.2-litre TDi SC model, and the 1.6–litre TDi Altea, Altea XL and Leon models being exempt from road tax.
Craig Johnson, franchise manager at Jennings SEAT in Middlesbrough, said; “The ECOmotive range is becoming increasingly popular with environmentally friendly customers who are not only conscious about carbon footprint, but who are also keen to take advantage of making substantial savings as a result of the models being exempt from road tax.”
He added; “In addition to this, we are also offering discounts which will be available until the end of this quarter.”
The Altea and Altea XL ECOmotives record official emissions of just 119g/km CO2, making them among the most environmentally responsible models in their segment.
The introduction of Auto Start/Stop technology and engine recuperation function helps the new second generation Leon ECOmotive to emit just 9g/km of CO2.
The new Leon is also the first model in SEAT’s range to use Auto Start/Stop technology. When the car comes to a halt, such as at a red traffic light, the driver selects neutral and lifts his foot off the clutch. The Start/Stop system kicks in and automatically switches off the engine. When the driver presses the clutch again, the engine seamlessly starts up and when a gear is engaged, the car can be driven away as usual.
Standard specification on all four ECOmotive models, includes air conditioning, electric front windows, remote central locking and an MP3 compatible CD player.
